Dietitian Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Dietitian to join our team at Providence Health Care. As a Dietitian, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our nutrition services.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate patient nutritional status and develop personalized care plans, collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure effective implementation and evaluation.
- Contribute to interdisciplinary patient care through participation in ward rounds and team conferences, sharing knowledge and expertise to optimize patient outcomes.
- Provide education and counseling to patients and families on nutrition-related topics, including diet modifications and lifestyle changes.
- Identify and refer patients to community-based nutritional resources as needed, ensuring comprehensive care and support.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and evaluation of written procedures, standards, and patient materials.
- Document patient care and maintain accurate records, including workload statistics and patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with colleagues to design and deliver in-service education, preparing educational materials and presenting to staff.
- Provide clinical education and supervision to students and dietetic interns, fostering their growth and development.
- Stay current with industry developments by reviewing professional literature, consulting with peers, and participating in relevant educational programs.
- Support research activities by generating questions, assisting with proposal writing, and contributing to data collection and interpretation.
- Monitor and manage supplies and equipment, reporting malfunctions and arranging for maintenance.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A Bachelor's degree in Food and Nutrition from a recognized university.
- A dietetic internship from an accredited program.
- Current registration with the College of Dietitians of British Columbia (CDBC).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Knowledge of legislation and government policies related to healthcare.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
