About the Role:

We are seeking a strong and experienced Dietitian to join our team at WestCana Services. As a Dietitian - Long Term Care Specialist, you will be responsible for providing clinical dietetic support to our multi-disciplinary care planning team. Your expertise will be essential in assessing residents' nutritional status and implementing nutritional care plans to meet their needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review menus and perform required audits to ensure nutritional requirements are met.
  • Observe meal delivery, check food quality, and advise Food Services to ensure all nutritional needs are met.
  • Develop documentation and reporting systems to maintain records and communication regarding nutritional assessments and compliance to therapeutic diet requirements.
  • Provide clinical dietetic support to the care planning team by assessing residents' nutritional status and implementing care plans.
  • Conduct resident and family nutrition awareness sessions as scheduled.

Requirements:

  • Graduation with a University Degree in Clinical Food and Nutrition approved by Dietitians of Canada.
  • Member in good standing of the College of Dietitians and the Dietitians of Canada.
  • Completion of a 1-year Dietetic Internship Program.
  • Two years' recent, related experience.
  • Possession of Liability Insurance and Reserved Act A for tube feeding.
  • Holds and maintains Valid Food Safe Certificate Level 1.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbal and written.
