Job Title: Construction Trades Helper

Rafat General Contractor Inc. is seeking a skilled Construction Trades Helper to join our team. As a Construction Trades Helper, you will assist skilled tradespersons with various tasks, including loading and unloading construction materials, erecting and dismantling concrete forms, and mixing and pouring materials.

Work Environment

As a Construction Trades Helper, you will work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. You will be required to work outdoors, underground, and in dusty conditions. You will also be required to handle heavy loads and work in a physically demanding environment.

Responsibilities
  • Load, unload, and transport construction materials
  • Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades
  • Mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt
  • Help medical examiners in charge
  • Level earth to fine grade specifications
  • Pave and rake asphalt
  • Clean and pile salvaged materials
  • Clean up chemical spills and other contaminants
  • Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites
  • Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction
  • Direct traffic at or near construction sites
  • Perform emergency roadside repairs
  • Clean and maintain sidewalks, streets, roads, and public grounds
  • Assist skilled tradespersons
  • Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas
Requirements
  • Experience in construction or a related field is an asset
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Ability to work outdoors, underground, and in dusty conditions
  • Ability to handle heavy loads
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
Language

The language of work is English.

Work Hours

The work hours are 30 hours per week.

Education

No degree, certificate, or diploma is required.
