Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Developer to lead the design, development, and enhancement of the Archer Platform at the Royal Bank of Canada. As a key member of our Technology and Operations team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of our business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, document, and execute unit tests for the Archer application, ensuring thorough system, integration, and acceptance testing.
  • Conduct in-depth analyses of organizational needs and goals to inform the development and implementation of application systems.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of relevant Governance, Risk, and Compliance standards and procedures related to your initiatives.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to project delivery teams, ensuring successful project outcomes.
  • Prepare high-level and detailed technical specifications, user stories, and security and architecture documentation for medium to large projects.
  • Implement complex workflows, integrations, business rules, and data structures in the application.
  • Develop detailed plans and accurate estimations for completion of build, system testing, and implementation phases of projects.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in Archer development.
  • Project delivery experience on GRC projects, specifically Regulatory Compliance, Operational Risk, IT Risk, Disaster Recovery, Supplier Risk, and Privacy Risk.
  • SDLC process and Agile project methodology experience.
  • Knowledge of IT Standards, Methodologies, and Audit requirements.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of workflow design and application development techniques.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Business Analysis and Project Management skills.
  • Experience configuring GRC tools similar to Archer.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as HTML, JavaScript, C#, SQL, XML/XSLT, Tableau, and Python.
  • Experience capturing and refining requirements directly from business stakeholders.
