Skid Steer Operator/Labourer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Skid Steer Operator/Labourer to join our team at Alpha Better Landscaping. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for operating a skid steer in a safe and effective manner, while assisting with various landscaping tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform pre-trip and hazard assessment checks on equipment and job site.
  • Operate equipment in a safe and effective manner, while avoiding damage to the company and other property.
  • Assist with landscaping tasks, such as grading, loaming, and other related duties.
  • Conduct work in accordance with OH&S requirements.
  • Observe and note the condition of equipment to ensure standards are met and problems and defects are corrected.
  • Be prepared to help crews with labourer tasks if there is no skid steer work onsite.
Requirements:
  • 1-2 years of experience operating a skid steer.
  • Class 5 driver's license (non-GDL) with 2 years of driving experience, clean driver abstract, and reliable vehicle.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Physical dexterity to handle prolonged sitting and operating a skid steer.
  • Good hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications.
