Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our team at Extendicare Canada Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the effective management of our nursing practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care to patients in accordance with established standards and principles, physicians' orders, and administrative policies.
- Assess patients' needs and develop, implement, review, and evaluate care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Monitor patients' health, note changes in condition, and assess the need for referral to doctors, processing and implementing physicians' orders.
Requirements:
- Current certificate of competence from the Approved Institutions for the province.
- Registration or eligibility for registration with the Approved Institutions for the province.
- Previous managerial experience in long-term care or community homecare is preferred.
- Experience dealing with cognitively impaired patients.
- Comprehensive knowledge of nursing and healthcare practices, including infection control.
- Demonstrated commitment to working with seniors.
- Ability to present information clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Organizational, planning, time management, and multi-tasking skills.
