Nurse Practitioner

Southern Health-Santé Sud is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Nurse Practitioner to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide primary and consultative care to individuals and specific client groups in accordance with evidence-based knowledge and advanced nursing practice.
Key Responsibilities:- Apply advanced nursing and medical theory to the provision of clinical care, autonomously ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, pharmacological agents, and performing minor invasive procedures.
- Implement strategies to promote health and prevent illness.
- Exercise independent judgment in determining work priorities, work methods, and action to be taken on unusual matters.
- Active practicing membership on the RN Extended Practice (EP) Register of the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM) and the scope of practice as defined by the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
- Advanced nursing care knowledge related to health assessment, diagnostic, pharmacotherapeutics, and invasive and minor surgical procedures.
- Minimum of five (5) years recent clinical nursing experience and in a primary care setting preferred.
- Experience working across sectors and linking between programs/organizations considered an asset.
- Demonstrated effective communication and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated effective conceptual, interpersonal, critical thinking/problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to changing situations and function in a challenging environment.
- Willing to work flexible hours.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently.
- Demonstrated knowledge of computer software such as Microsoft Office.
- Experience with electronic medical records and electronic health records an asset.
- Completes and maintains a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Search, Adult Abuse Registry Check, and Child Abuse Registry Check, as appropriate.
- All Health Care workers are required to be immunized as a condition of employment in accordance with Southern Health-Santé Sud policy.
- Requires a valid Class 5 driver's license, an all-purpose insured vehicle, and liability insurance of at least $1,000,000.00.
