The Master of Management & Professional Accounting Program at UTM is seeking applications for a Sessional Lecturer position for the upcoming academic term. This role is open to qualified candidates who are not currently enrolled as students at the University of Toronto.

Course Information: MGT 1202H - Ethics and Governance (2 modules)

Class Schedule: Classes will be conducted for 2 hours, 1-2 times weekly, with potential timings of 9 am, 12 pm, or 3 pm (subject to adjustments).

Appointment Duration: September to December

Course Description: The Ethics & Governance course delves into the expected individual and organizational behaviors aligned with business ethics and governance standards. It emphasizes the significance of trust in the accounting profession and the broader business landscape. The course explores the critical role of ethics in fostering and sustaining trust, alongside the essential governance practices that guide professional conduct in an evolving corporate environment.

Role Responsibilities: The successful candidate will undertake various responsibilities, including:

  • Designing and delivering course content.
  • Supervising teaching assistants.
  • Creating, administering, and grading assignments, tests, and examinations.
  • Calculating and submitting grades to university officials.
  • Holding regular office hours for student consultations.

Qualifications: Candidates should possess either a completed PhD in a relevant field or be in progress for non-University of Toronto graduate students, along with relevant professional qualifications or experience. A strong background in teaching, particularly in a similar course, is highly desirable. Preference will be given to candidates with a rank of Sessional Lecturer II or III.
