Alberta Health Services offers a competitive compensation package, including a Fort McMurray Allowance that can reach an annual maximum of $12,480. This allowance is non-pensionable and is calculated on an hourly basis for all hours compensated at the standard pay rate.
Position Summary:
As an MRI Technologist I, your primary responsibility will be to generate and document magnetic resonance images for evaluation by a Radiologist or Cardiologist, aiding in the diagnosis and monitoring of medical conditions. You will ensure the production of high-quality diagnostic MRI images as requested by a Physician, while also preparing and positioning patients for their examinations. This role involves reviewing patient medical histories, clearly explaining procedures, addressing both the physical and emotional needs of patients during the scanning process, and maintaining the functionality of MRI equipment.
Essential Qualifications:A diploma from an accredited Medical Resonance Imaging (MRI) Program is required, or alternatively, a certificate from an accredited MRI Technologist program along with a diploma from an accredited program in Medical Radiology, Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ultrasound), Nuclear Medicine, or Radiation Therapy. Candidates must be actively registered or eligible for registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT). A current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification is also necessary.
