Your Opportunity:
A competitive rate of pay and a Fort McMurray Allowance are available to Alberta Health Services employees. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.
Description:
As a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist I, you will produce and record magnetic resonance images for interpretation by a Radiologist or Cardiologist for the purpose of diagnosis and tracking of disease and pathology. You will produce high-quality diagnostic MRI images as ordered by a Physician, prepare and position patients for examination, review patient history, explain procedures, respond to the physical and psychological needs of patients throughout the scanning procedure, and maintain MRI equipment.
Required Qualifications:
Completion of a diploma from an accredited Medical Resonance Imaging (MRI) Program is required, or completion of a certificate from an accredited MRI Technologist program plus a diploma from an accredited Program in Medical Radiology, Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ultrasound), Nuclear Medicine, or Radiation Therapy. Active or eligible registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) is also required. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification is necessary.
