About the Role

The City of Vancouver is seeking a highly skilled Urban Planning Manager to join our Planning, Urban Design & Sustainability department. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our city.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement urban planning strategies to achieve the City's goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex issues and negotiate with stakeholders.
  • Provide input and oversight on policy, regulatory, and governance changes to support the City's vision.
  • Direct internal teams to deliver on strategic goals, including project management, policy, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Contribute to the City's strategic planning process and provide recommendations to senior leaders.
Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in urban planning or a related field, with significant experience in managing complex projects.
  • Proven track record of working in an environment that balances public policy and business objectives.
  • Knowledge of local government issues and/or experience working with the City of Vancouver is an asset.
  • Formal training and experience in project management, preferably with a certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI).
