About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and physically fit Heavy Duty Cleaner to join our team at Kenlar Investments Inc. as a Facilities Maintenance Technician. This is a permanent position that requires a strong work ethic and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sweep, mop, scrub and wax hallways, floors and stairs to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris and other refuse.
  • Empty trash cans and other waste containers to ensure a clean and hygienic environment.
  • Wash windows, interior walls and ceilings to maintain a clean and visually appealing environment.
  • Perform minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs.
  • Contact contractors for repairs and maintenance of the establishment.
  • Perform minor repairs on appliances to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Perform safety and security checks to ensure the environment is safe and secure.
  • Show apartments and offices to prospective tenants to showcase the facilities.
  • Supervise other workers to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Move heavy furniture, equipment and supplies to maintain a clean and organized environment.
  • Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair.
  • Water and tend to plants, lawns and/or gardens to maintain a visually appealing environment.
  • Clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures to ensure a clean and hygienic environment.
  • Work with minimal supervision to demonstrate independence and self-motivation.
  • Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas to ensure a safe environment.
Requirements
  • 1-2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions and handle heavy loads.
  • Physical stamina to perform tasks that require bending, crouching, kneeling and lifting.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with colleagues and clients.
