Position Overview

As the Vice President of Operations, reporting directly to the President, you will play a crucial role within the Canteen Leadership team. Your primary responsibility will be to drive revenue, profitability, and growth for the Sector through strategic leadership and support. This position is pivotal in enhancing the retail experience for our customers across higher education, business & manufacturing, healthcare, and other sectors.

In your role as Vice President of Operations, your key responsibilities will include:

  1. Developing and implementing comprehensive strategic operational plans that align with the organization's vision and objectives.
  2. Enhancing Sector revenue and profitability by formulating budget forecasts and operational strategies, while assessing and analyzing operational capabilities to ensure budget compliance.
  3. Fostering a positive, inclusive, and engaging workplace culture by employing a servant-leader approach, which includes attracting, developing, and retaining high-performing teams, creating succession plans, and ensuring a safe and supportive work environment.
  4. Overseeing core operations to guarantee efficiency, quality, service, and cost-effectiveness, which includes establishing standards and communicating goals, expectations, and objectives to the operations teams.
  5. Expanding existing and new business opportunities within the Sector by implementing and supporting innovative business strategies in collaboration with Canteen support functions.
  6. Providing leadership, direction, and support to multiple teams, including the Core Canteen Operations team and relevant support teams, to achieve financial and operational targets.

  1. A seasoned leader with extensive experience in consumer packaged goods or retail, demonstrating a passion for optimizing last-mile delivery and a vision for retail and merchandising excellence.
  2. Adept at thriving in dynamic environments and tackling complex challenges.
  3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills that enable you to utilize data metrics to drive business growth, manage and mentor teams, and cultivate a collaborative and innovative workplace.
  4. Proven leadership capabilities, including the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams and effective project management skills.
  5. A university degree, preferably an MBA or a related Master’s program.
  6. A minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in Operations, showcasing strong engagement and retention in a high-volume, multi-account management environment, including both unionized and non-unionized settings.
  7. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  8. Proficiency in Windows-based office software.
  9. Bilingual proficiency in French and English is preferred.
