Key Responsibilities
As an Industrial Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for the following:
A. Equipment and Facility Maintenance
B. Preventative Maintenance
Conduct boiler chemical testing and document results. Perform routine safety checks on boilers and implement necessary repairs. Test wastewater pretreatment systems and record findings. Monitor utility meter readings and take corrective actions as needed. Clean and lubricate machinery components according to procedures. Inspect motors and belts, check fluid levels, and replace filters as required.
C. Safety
Conduct regular safety inspections and address any concerns. Maintain a clean and safe working environment by adhering to safety regulations. Implement Lockout/Tagout procedures as necessary. Follow Confined Space procedures when required.
D. Administration
Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System for tracking. Prepare maintenance reports by gathering and analyzing data. Maintain comprehensive maintenance records, including logs for preventive maintenance and equipment failures. Assist in updating the repair parts list and vendor contacts. Maintain an action list as directed by management.
E. Inventory Control
Optimize maintenance resources by using supplies efficiently. Monitor and replenish inventory of equipment and parts.
F. Personal Development
Enhance technical knowledge through workshops and training.
G. General Duties
Anticipate maintenance challenges and take proactive measures to minimize downtime. Communicate with management regarding potential operational issues. Respond to emergency alarms and provide necessary maintenance support. Mentor junior maintenance staff and assist with their development. Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Experience
Minimum of 1 year of experience in industrial equipment maintenance. Proficient in reading blueprints and schematics. Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office. Experience with hand and power tools is essential. Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout procedures is required. Prior welding experience is preferred. Familiarity with safety programs and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems is advantageous. HVAC and boiler knowledge is a plus.
Education
High school diploma or GED is required; a two-year technical degree is preferred.
