Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Personal Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will provide nursing care and support to clients in a nursing home setting, assisting with daily living activities, personal care, and mobility. Key Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing care and support to clients, including assistance with daily living activities, personal care, and mobility.
  • Assist clients with bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Supply and empty bed pans, and maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Take clients' blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, and report any changes to the nurse.
  • Serve meal trays and feed clients, as needed.
  • Weigh, lift, turn, and position clients, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Make beds and maintain clients' rooms, ensuring a clean and comfortable environment.
  • Transport clients in a wheelchair or stretcher, as needed.
  • Collect specimens, as required.
  • Administer first aid in emergency situations, and provide basic life support.
  • Provide personal care, including assistance with toileting, bathing, and dressing.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, promoting their overall well-being.
  • Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Launder clothing and household linens, as needed.
Requirements
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate.
  • First Aid Certificate.
  • CPR Certificate.
  • Nursing Aide Certificate.
  • Health Care Aide Certificate.
  • Personal Support Worker Certificate.
  • Criminal record check.
  • Immunization records.
  • Vulnerable sector check.
  • Tuberculosis test.
Work Environment

This is a fast-paced environment, requiring the ability to work under pressure and maintain attention to detail. The successful candidate will be physically demanding, with a combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, and kneeling. A valid driver's license is not required for this position.
