Role Summary

What is the opportunity?

We are in search of a driven Director of Digital Consumer Insights and Product Analytics who will be instrumental in enhancing the effectiveness of our Avion Rewards Program. This role encompasses the management of digital analytics, informed decision-making, and strategic insights pertaining to customer behavior, product effectiveness, and shopping patterns. The successful candidate will possess a robust background in analytics, digital offerings, and commerce, alongside the capability to spearhead data-driven growth initiatives. The Director will lead cross-functional teams and projects to achieve business objectives by collaborating with the broader Loyalty Analytics team and various stakeholders within the Loyalty organization. This position will also contribute to the evolution of our analytics and insights framework.

The Director of Digital Consumer Insights and Product Analytics will be pivotal in driving the success of the Avion Rewards Loyalty program by uncovering and delivering critical insights and recommendations based on client interactions and web traffic. This presents an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about data analysis, managing impactful projects, and seeking a challenging and fulfilling career in a vibrant and fast-evolving sector.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership:

  • Guide and oversee a team of analytics specialists, nurturing a collaborative, innovative, and agile environment; develop, maintain, and present reporting and presentation materials to cross-functional teams, including senior management, to convey insights and recommendations regarding the customer shopping experience.
  • Offer guidance to the team on complex data extraction processes utilized for analysis and hypothesis validation.
  • Independently collaborate with internal stakeholders, prioritize requests, manage project outcomes, and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Experience in navigating change and delivering process improvements, scalable analyses, dashboards, and model enhancements.

Data Leadership:

  • Lead the application of data and statistical methodologies to develop testing strategies that will fuel program growth.
  • Enhance and expand the toolkit for insights to promote automation and self-service capabilities.
  • Examine customer-level data to discern behaviors, trends, and provide strategic recommendations aimed at boosting member engagement with shopping and digital platforms.
  • Construct, maintain, and refine conversion funnels.

Industry & Product Leadership:

  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of our customers, products, and competitive landscape.
  • Track industry trends and innovations, providing new insights and recommendations to the team and product owners to enhance engagement and performance of offers.
  • Collaborate with product managers to evaluate site performance across digital channels (mobile/web).
  • Develop proficiency in utilizing online tools to assess performance metrics.
  • Create business cases to estimate the financial impact of program features and enhancements.

Qualifications for Success

Essential:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Management Analytics).
  • A minimum of 7+ years of experience in analytics, ideally within an ecommerce or retail context.
  • Expertise in data tools and visualization software (Python, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Google Analytics).
  • Experience in developing testing strategies that drive program growth.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to bridge business and technical requirements to achieve results.
  • Proven capability to extract insights from data and effectively communicate those insights to stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Strong communication skills (both oral and written) with the ability to convey complex data in an easily understandable format.
  • Adept at presenting to senior leadership.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to leverage data for decision-making and proactively offer relevant recommendations to the business.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.

Preferred:

  • Technical expertise in data modeling that supports business intelligence tools.
  • Background in data consulting.
