Senior Project Manager Opportunity

MPA Recruitment is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our client's team in Atlantic Canada. As a key member of the Building Operations team, you will be responsible for managing large-scale building and infrastructure projects, working closely with client groups and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with team members, trade partners, consultants, and clients to achieve project goals and vision;
  • Support project management teams in developing and driving the construction schedule to ensure completion dates and milestones are met;
  • Apply problem-solving skills to recommend innovative methods that increase effectiveness and efficiency, ensuring project excellence and productivity;
  • Ensure compliance with the company's Quality Program;
  • Utilize experience in trade partner selection and coordination of their activities;
  • Apply financial management experience to plan, manage, and respect project budgets, costs, and associated purchasing;
  • Share knowledge and mentor project team members;
  • Keep the lines of communication open regarding project status and updates;
  • Minimize project risk through expert risk management;
  • Compile and complete company-wide project reports;
  • Demonstrate leadership in Health, Safety, and Environmental Protection on the project;
  • Effectively apply project-specific safety standards to promote HS&E standards, applicable OH&S acts, regulations, and codes with all employees and trade partners on the project;
  • Celebrate project success and completion as a key member of the project wrap-up process.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years' experience in Project Management in the ICI construction industry;
  • University Degree/Technology Diploma in Engineering, or a combination of education and industry experience;
  • Proven track record of project leadership, success, and team collaboration;
  • Outstanding leadership and organizational skills with the ability to effectively influence others and successfully resolve client, project, and technical issues;
  • Strong knowledge of construction and project methodologies, financial management, building codes, and associated legislation;
  • Role model status for health and safety as well as quality;
  • Passion for developing, maintaining, and executing the project schedule;
  • Good computer skills and previous experience with scheduling software;
  • Knowledge of the market.
