The Role

We're seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our team in Halifax, NS. Under the guidance of the Senior Vice President of Operations, the successful candidate will work with Project Managers, Site Superintendents, and Projects Coordinators to manage the construction activities on large commercial projects. They will be accountable for the overall performance of the project, including costs, schedule, quality, and adherence to company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Plan, schedule, budget, and control activities during the construction phase of the project(s) in conjunction with the supporting team members
  2. Ensure the project is constructed as per design, budget, resources, quality, and schedule
  3. Administer and manage prime contracts and subcontracts, including negotiating and awarding subcontracts for scopes of work and reviewing and evaluating subcontractor performance
  4. Manage project budgets and schedules and submit monthly progress billings
  5. Foster and maintain positive relations and communication with clients, consultants, architects, and subcontractors
  6. Manage project closeout and commissioning

Requirements:

  1. A degree in Engineering, CET certification, or the equivalent
  2. Demonstrated leadership, project management, and problem-solving skills
  3. 5–10 years of progressive construction experience
  4. Excellent oral and written communication skills
  5. Advanced ability to build relationships
  6. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Procore, project management, and scheduling software
  7. Above-average time management skills
  8. A strong work ethic, a relentless drive to fulfill commitments, and tremendous enthusiasm
