About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Welder - Marine Repair Specialist to join our team at Avantis Marine North America Inc. As a key member of our marine repair team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of workmanship in the fabrication and repair of metal parts and products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpretation and Execution: Interpret welding process specifications and execute manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment operations to fabricate or repair metal parts and products.
  • Quality Control: Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment and previously set-up welding machines.
  • Material Handling: Handle steel, iron, and heavy metals.
  • Welding Techniques: Apply shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) (TIG), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), and flux core arc welding (FCAW) techniques.
  • Area of Specialization: Focus on marine repair and maintenance.
  • Security and Safety: Maintain basic security clearance and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Work in confined spaces, handle heavy loads, and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Experience and Benefits: Possess 1 year to less than 2 years of experience and enjoy health care and group insurance benefits.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • Work Setting: Various locations, including marine environments.
  • Hours of Work: 68 hours per week.
