The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Policy Analyst to join our National Institute on Ageing (NIA) team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting policy analysis, monitoring and tracking policy issues and political trends across multiple jurisdictions, and developing actionable policy recommendations to support the NIA's public policy agenda.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct policy analysis and research to inform the NIA's public policy agenda
  • Monitor and track policy issues and political trends across multiple jurisdictions
  • Develop policy recommendations and briefings for senior government officials
  • Lead engagement and outreach activities with stakeholders, partners, and government officials
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and partners
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary degree in political science, public policy, business administration, economics, or a related field
  • Minimum four years' experience in a similar role, preferably in the public sector, not-for-profit organization, or academic institution
  • Experience designing and executing policy research, performing complex analysis, and writing policy documents
  • Knowledge of national and jurisdictional key issues relating to ageing in Canada
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Political acuity and ability to engage with senior government officials
