Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Cashier to manage transactions and provide exceptional service in a retail environment. This role is essential for ensuring smooth operations at the point of sale.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.
  • Experience: Previous experience is not necessary as training will be provided.
Work Environment

The position is based in a retail business setting, where you will engage with customers and handle various payment methods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate the cash register efficiently.
  • Process payments including cash, cheques, and credit/debit cards.
  • Scan items accurately for sales transactions.
  • Calculate and reconcile daily payments with total sales.
  • Welcome and assist customers with their inquiries.
  • Ensure a secure environment by monitoring entrances and exits.
Technical Skills
  • Familiarity with electronic cash registers.
  • Experience with Interac machines is an asset.
Safety and Security

A criminal record check is required to ensure a safe working environment.

Transportation

Public transportation options are available for commuting to work.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capability to handle physical demands, including lifting heavy items.
  • Must be able to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Willingness to engage in a combination of sitting, standing, and walking throughout the shift.
