Safety Compliance Specialist

Essential Information:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Safety Coordinator role or a similar position.
  • Ability to conduct and engage in safety meetings, training sessions, orientations, inspections, and follow-up on incidents.
  • Standard working hours are from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, subject to project requirements.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as necessary.
  • Compensation is based on experience.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Engage in daily toolbox discussions.
  • Attend and contribute to weekly safety meetings.
  • Review and assess workers' Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHA).
  • Facilitate project site safety orientations as needed.
  • Coordinate safety training sessions as required.
  • Compile and archive daily safety documentation into project folders.
  • Organize and take part in weekly safety inspections.
  • Support all safety-related documentation in the field.
  • Conduct follow-ups and investigations for incidents.
  • Monitor and report on project site safety statistics.

Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Valid CSTS (Construction Safety Training Systems) certification is required.
  • NCSO certification is mandatory.
  • Travel may be necessary; a valid driver's license with a clean driving record is essential.
  • Current WHMIS 2015 and CSTS certifications are required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Safety Coordinator role or equivalent.
  • Pre-access drug and alcohol testing may be required based on project site policies.
  • Experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis is preferred.
  • Standard First Aid, Ground Disturbance, Confined Space Entry, and Fall Protection training are advantageous.
  • Strong administrative skills and a professional demeanor are essential.
  • Attention to detail, organizational skills, and effective time management are crucial.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is necessary.
  • A reliable means of transportation is required.
  • Proficient English language skills are essential.

Education: NCSO Certificate or equivalent experience is required.
