About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Intermediate Tailings Engineer to join our Mining Environmental Group in Vancouver or Nanaimo. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting site assessments, feasibility studies, and conceptual engineering designs for tailing storage facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to evaluate tailings management designs.
  • Develop conceptual and detailed engineering designs for tailing storage facilities, including embankments, liners, and drainage systems.
  • Perform numerical modeling and analysis to assess the stability and performance of tailing structures under various conditions.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to clients throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Engage with multi-disciplinary teams to integrate environmental, geotechnical, and regulatory considerations into tailings management strategies.
Requirements
  • A degree in civil engineering, or geotechnical engineering, with a master's degree considered an asset.
  • 3+ years' experience in civil or geotechnical engineering, preferably in mining or related industries.
  • Eligibility to register as a professional engineer in Canada.
  • Proficiency in geotechnical analysis software, such as FLAC, PLAXIS, or GeoStudio.
  • A general understanding of mining-related regulations and industry best practices.
