About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Welder to join our team at Brarco Construction Ltd. as a Fabrication Specialist.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and Maintain Equipment: Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment, including MIG, TIG, and ARC welders, to fabricate metal components and assemblies.
  • Inspect and Test Welds: Examine welds to ensure they meet industry standards and specifications, using visual inspection techniques and non-destructive testing methods.
  • Operate Metal Shaping Machines: Operate brakes, shears, and other metal shaping, straightening, and bending machines to prepare metal components for welding.
  • Determine Material Weldability: Assess the weldability of various metals and alloys, taking into account factors such as chemical composition, thickness, and surface finish.
  • Work in a Team Environment: Collaborate with other fabrication specialists, engineers, and production staff to ensure efficient and effective production processes.
  • Adhere to Safety Protocols: Follow all safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to lockout/tagout procedures.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required, but relevant training or certification in welding and metal fabrication is an asset.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field, such as welding, metal fabrication, or manufacturing.
  • Language: English is the primary language spoken in the workplace.
  • Work Hours: 35 to 40 hours per week, with occasional overtime as required.
