Position Overview

Accumetal Manufacturing Inc. is seeking a dedicated Industrial Painter to join our team. This role involves applying coatings to various metal products while ensuring high standards of quality and safety.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of a trades certificate or diploma in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: A minimum of 1 year to less than 2 years in a similar role.
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a dusty, noisy environment with potential odours. Adherence to safety protocols is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications accurately.
  • Ensure equipment is clean and well-maintained.
  • Apply paint to small items and perform touch-ups using brushes.
  • Select suitable paints or mix them as required.
  • Operate equipment for spraying or coating surfaces.
Product and Techniques

This position involves working with general metal products and utilizing various surface preparation methods such as masking and water blasting. Knowledge of catalyzed or polymerized paints is beneficial.

Application Methods
  • Utilize electrostatic methods and hand-held spray guns for efficient application.
Physical Requirements

Candidates must demonstrate:

  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Capability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to handle heavy loads, up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
  • Willingness to engage in physically demanding and repetitive tasks.
  • Capacity to stand for extended periods.
