As a key member of our team at CAD Railway Industries Ltd., you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient maintenance of our rail fleet. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Rail Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at the Car Shop - Willowbrook facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct job and safety briefings to ensure a safe working environment for all employees
- Investigate and correct safety incidents and hazards, documenting all findings and actions taken
- Perform facility inspections to ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations
- Supervise a team of unionized maintenance employees, providing coaching and development opportunities to enhance their skills and performance
- Ensure all rail equipment service is completed on time and within schedule, allocating resources effectively to meet customer requirements
- Participate in meetings with staff, management, and customers to discuss operational matters and provide input on complex technical issues
- Act as a point of contact for customer issues related to equipment maintenance, investigating and resolving concerns in a timely and professional manner
Requirements:
- 3 to 5 years of experience supervising in a rail maintenance environment, with a strong understanding of rail equipment and maintenance procedures
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical issues and provide guidance to staff
- Impeccable ethics and integrity, with a commitment to promoting a safe and inclusive work environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with staff, management, and customers
- Ability to work effectively in a unionized environment, with a strong understanding of collective agreements and labor relations
