Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Rail Testing Supervisor to join our team at CP. As a key member of our rail operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our rail network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive CP-owned vehicles and rental cars to locations to perform daily testing and inspections
  • Operate and maintain CP-owned ultrasonic rail testing equipment on various segments of our rail network
  • Calibrate and ensure equipment is up to standards to perform quality inspections
  • Collaborate with the Roadmaster to ensure Rail Flaw Detection equipment is on schedule and meets production targets
  • Ensure track protection and adhere to all safety rules to ensure a safe working environment
  • Perform quality work to ensure the safe passage of trains in compliance with the SPC and Red Book
  • Be on call on a regular basis outside of normal business hours and workdays
  • Work a 2 weeks ON and 1 week OFF schedule (travel required to get to work and back home)

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Driver's License
  • Previous rail experience is an asset
  • Trained in Rail Flaw Ultrasonic testing is preferred but not required
  • Instrumentation and testing experience in other disciplines is an asset
  • High proficiency in using a computer and troubleshooting ability
  • Proficiency in using tools to make mechanical repairs to equipment
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
