Your Role at EXP

We are looking for a dedicated and technically skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team in Atlantic Canada. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment while enjoying the benefits of a flexible hybrid work model.

What You Can Expect

  • Prepare essential drawings, specifications, and reports for project delivery.
  • Design mechanical building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and specialized systems.
  • Create detailed project-specific documents to clarify scope and assist with system coordination.
  • Conduct calculations for ductwork, piping, and equipment sizing, integrating these into technical drawings.
  • Coordinate with project team members to ensure comprehensive and accurate designs.
  • Engage in effective communication regarding project status with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Utilize AutoCAD and REVIT for design drawing creation.
  • Perform field investigations, including building assessments and construction inspections.
  • Review technical codes and standards to support design and reporting processes.
  • Provide support to clients during the tendering and construction phases, including site inspections.

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation or eligibility for registration.
  • Experience in preparing construction documents and cost estimates.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems design and project management.
  • Familiarity with national building codes and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in REVIT/BIM is a valuable asset.
  • Able to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience in energy modeling and auditing for efficiency and sustainability is advantageous.
