Job Summary:

IMP Group is seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Specialist to join our team. As an Electrical Systems Specialist, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical and electronic equipment within our facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret electrical code specifications, drawings, and blueprints to determine the layout of industrial electrical equipment and installations.
  • Work from elevated heights and confined spaces while utilizing fall protection training and equipment.
  • Perform general maintenance tasks, including basic mechanical work, and assist with emergency maintenance situations.
  • Follow the Canadian Electrical Code, local building codes, and Company policy or procedures.
  • Conduct a detailed risk assessment of the work sequence to identify materials and quantities needed for new and/or repair electrical/electronic projects.
  • Perform general electrical maintenance, including installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical controls, panel boxes, wiring, and lighting systems.
  • Maintain, repair, test, and install electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries, and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems.
  • Troubleshoot electrical equipment issues using testing devices to determine the condition of electrical equipment.
  • Repair and maintain high voltage systems.
  • Inspect transformers, circuit breakers, and other electrical components for corrective maintenance.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance programs and keep maintenance records.

Requirements:

  • Completion of High School (Grade 12) or equivalent experience and/or training.
  • Red seal industrial electrician certification and a minimum of 5 years industry experience with equipment controls.
  • Knowledge of the tools, equipment, and materials common to the electrical trade.
  • Knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Knowledge of electrical application for high and low voltage electric systems.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to IMP Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment policies.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement activities in your area.
  • Eligibility to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), and Canadian Government Security Clearances.
