Essential Qualifications
  • Certification from the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science or an equivalent body.
  • Current registration or eligibility as a Medical Laboratory Technologist with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario, with authorization to practice in relevant specialties of Laboratory Medicine.
  • A minimum of two years' experience in a medical laboratory is preferred.
  • Proficiency in computer systems (e.g., Cerner).
  • Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to commit to 12-hour shifts.
  • Exemplary accuracy, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
  • Capacity to collaborate and foster effective relationships within healthcare teams.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Commitment to personal, patient, and staff safety.
  • Reliability in regular attendance at work.
  • Ability to uphold patient privacy and confidentiality.
Additional Conditions
  • Availability to work various shifts as needed, including weekends, statutory holidays, day, evening, and night shifts.
  • Work hours may vary based on the operational needs of Laboratory Services and the hospital.
  • Compensation is based on the Non-Union Salary Schedule, ranging from $36.84 to $50.24 per hour.
