Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Life Insurance Underwriter to join our team. As a Life Insurance Underwriter, you will be responsible for accurately evaluating risk for individual life and critical illness policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate risk for individual life and critical illness policies to ensure timely and appropriate coverage decisions.
- Mentor and guide junior underwriters to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to make sound risk decisions.
- Provide sound risk decisions and support the Sales & Marketing and Retail Business line teams.
- Lead assigned projects and actively participate as a team member.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in individual underwriting, with authority limits of 1 million plus.
- Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and database computer software for effectively utilizing technology in the underwriting process.
- Knowledge of medical and financial terminology.
- FLMI and FALU are assets.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Well-developed organizational skills to efficiently manage tasks and responsibilities.
