Outpatient Clinic Operations Manager

Position Overview:
The Outpatient Clinic Operations Manager will report directly to the Program Director of Regional Cancer Care. This role encompasses the oversight of daily operations within the Outpatient Cancer Services, which includes Nursing, the Regional Systemic Therapy Treatment Program with multiple partner sites, Clerical Support, and Palliative Care as part of the Regional Cancer Care Northwest Program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a diverse team of professionals collaborating with Oncologists and other medical staff to ensure optimal clinic experiences and outcomes for patients.
- Manage the achievement of performance goals set by Cancer Care Ontario (CCO) and the Regional Palliative Care Program (RPCP).
- Plan and coordinate daily operational activities focusing on quality and safety within the Cancer Program.
- Provide clinical and professional leadership to foster a safe and effective work environment, emphasizing efficiency and accountability among team members.
- Monitor and ensure the quality of patient care and adherence to professional standards of practice.
Qualifications:
- Current unrestricted registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing.
- A minimum of 5 years of clinical practice or 2 years in a clinical leadership role.
- Experience in outpatient clinic management or a strong understanding of clinical systems design is an asset, particularly in relation to patient flow.
Skills and Abilities:
- In-depth knowledge of the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care.
- Strong leadership capabilities with advanced critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated understanding of clinical systems and quality improvement methodologies.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Records.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe environment for both staff and patients.
Additional Assets:
- Completion of an Oncology Nursing Certification Program or equivalent certification.
- Experience leading quality improvement initiatives within the healthcare sector.
Compensation:
The salary range for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience.
