Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food Service Supervisor to join our team at Silver Chopsticks Restaurant. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our food service department, ensuring that our high standards of quality and customer service are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision
    • Supervise and coordinate the activities of a team of food service staff, including servers, hosts/hostesses, and kitchen personnel.
    • Train and develop staff members to ensure they have the skills and knowledge necessary to perform their duties effectively.
  • Operations Management
    • Establish and implement efficient systems and procedures to ensure the smooth operation of our food service department.
    • Monitor and control inventory levels, including food, supplies, and equipment.
    • Ensure that all health and safety regulations are adhered to, and that our kitchen and dining areas are maintained in a clean and safe condition.
  • Customer Service
    • Ensure that all customers receive exceptional service, and that their needs are met in a timely and efficient manner.
    • Address customer complaints and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Reporting and Administration
    • Prepare and submit regular reports on departmental performance, including sales, inventory, and customer feedback.
    • Maintain accurate records of staff attendance, training, and performance.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a food service supervisory role.
  • Work Setting
    • Restaurant environment.
  • Physical Demands
    • Standing for extended periods.
    • Fast-paced environment.
  • Personal Suitability
    • Client focus.
    • Efficient interpersonal skills.
    • Excellent oral communication.

Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment, with regular exposure to food and kitchen equipment. The ability to work effectively in a team environment, and to communicate clearly and professionally with staff and customers, is essential.
