Job Summary:

The YMCA of Three Rivers is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Head Guard & Swim Instructor to join our team. As a key member of our aquatic team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our members and participants in the pool.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster a safe and inclusive environment for all participants by adhering to lifeguarding procedures and protocols.
  • Supervise and support swimming lessons to ensure quality and consistency of instruction.
  • Review and provide feedback on lesson plans and progress evaluations of aquatic instructors.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all participants and respond to their needs in a timely and professional manner.
  • Complete registrations and maintain waitlists using the YMCA Member Information/Registration system.
  • Responsible for daily pool logs and monitoring pool chemistry.

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of lifeguarding experience.
  • Current National Lifeguard certification, Standard First Aid with CPR-C and AED, and Swim Instructor certification.
  • Aquatic fitness certification and/or advanced instructor certifications are an asset.
  • Acceptable Police Check for Vulnerable Sector.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
