Site Superintendent Job Description

At Michael Page International Canada Limited, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Superintendent to join our team. As a key member of our construction management team, you will be responsible for overseeing all on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Management: Manage and supervise all on-site construction activities, including subcontractors and tradespeople.
  • Coordination: Coordinate with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Progress Monitoring: Monitor project progress and timelines, identifying and addressing any issues or delays promptly.
  • Safety Protocols: Implement and enforce safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Quality Control: Conduct regular site inspections and quality control checks to ensure workmanship meets company standards.
  • Record Keeping: Keep accurate records of project expenses, materials, and manpower utilization.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with project team members, clients, and subcontractors to ensure alignment and successful project delivery.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience as an ICI Superintendent, managing ICI projects.
  • Project Experience: Experience working on new build hotel projects.
  • Construction Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction methods, techniques, and materials.
  • Leadership Skills: Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
  • Project Delivery: Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • LEED Certification: Knowledge of LEED certification and sustainable building practices preferred.
  • Certifications: Gold Seal certification or equivalent credentials highly desirable.
  • Software Skills: Familiarity with construction management software and tools.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Travel: Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
