Job Summary:

High Tide Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Legal Advisor to join our team. As a key member of our Legal and Compliance department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the company's compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice on regulatory and compliance matters to the business
  • Conduct routine checks on compliance with various elements of the company's business
  • Manage and respond to Regulatory requests for information ensuring responses comply with applicable privacy laws
  • Lead SOX compliance initiatives for the legal department
  • Collaborate with external legal firms with respect to any litigation matters
  • Assist the Vice President and Legal Counsel in identifying and assessing legal risks and developing strategies to mitigate risks and protect High Tide's interests
  • Function as an expert on the legal and regulatory framework for the sale and distribution of cannabis and cannabis products in Canada and worldwide

Requirements:

  • Law Degree, Member of a Provincial Bar in good standing in Alberta
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Compliance & Regulatory
  • Knowledge of SOX experience is an asset
  • A self-motivated professional with Canadian law experience who can work well independently and as part of a team
  • Proactively bring projects to completion
  • Superior organizational and time management skills with experience addressing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Able to provide clear instructions and advice, persuasively communicating risk processes and policies
