Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Legal Advisor to join our Legal & Risk Management team. As a trusted advisor, you will provide legal expertise to support the success of our operations across a broad range of practice areas.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Work closely with business units to provide counsel and support in a broad range of practice areas, including corporate law, commercial law, and regulatory compliance.
  2. Conduct legal research and provide advice to various department heads and executives on complex legal issues.
  3. Identify legal issues, research and analyze complicated situations, and develop practical solutions in an efficient and timely manner.
  4. Work closely with MNP's practitioners to proactively identify and manage legal risk, ensuring that our clients receive the best possible advice and service.
  5. Work closely with outside counsel and manage all stages of litigation, ensuring that our clients' interests are protected.
  6. Assist in the review and maintenance of corporate policies, ensuring that they are up-to-date and compliant with relevant laws and regulations.
  7. Draft concise and effective legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and other business-related documents.
  8. Develop working relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including clients, colleagues, and outside counsel, and work effectively with them to achieve our goals.
  9. Write briefs on regulations, legal/compliance matters, and other ad hoc legal issues to defend our clients' positions and provide guidance to our team.
  10. Develop a thorough understanding of MNP's services, businesses, and industry, and contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve our work processes.
  11. Raise awareness of MNP at community events, promoting our brand and services to potential clients and partners.

Requirements

  1. 2 to 4 years post-call experience as a lawyer.
  2. Demonstrated ability to identify legal issues, research and analyze complicated situations, and develop practical solutions.
  3. Excellent customer service skills, with a focus on providing exceptional service to our clients.
