We are seeking dedicated Intermediate or Senior Project Engineers (Civil & Electrical Engineering) to join our Engineering Projects Department. Reporting directly to the Manager of Airside Engineering Projects, the successful candidates will oversee a variety of construction projects, focusing on airfield and apron facilities, lighting, and utility systems.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Overseeing assigned capital projects, including defining project requirements, scope, budget, and timelines.
- Developing and executing project implementation strategies in collaboration with Airport Operations and Maintenance, prioritizing construction safety and environmental responsibility.
- Assisting in the creation and assessment of Request for Proposal and Tender documents, encompassing scope of work, technical specifications, and scheduling constraints.
- Leading design teams to achieve project goals while adhering to established scope, timelines, and financial plans.
- Managing project budgets, including cost forecasting and risk assessment.
- Coordinating with internal Airport Authority departments and external stakeholders throughout project lifecycles, including managing contracts, monitoring work progress, handling change orders, payments, and resolving disputes.
Essential Qualifications:
- A minimum of five years' experience for Intermediate Project Engineer or ten years' experience for Senior Project Engineer in managing construction projects within the design, construction, or consulting sectors, complemented by a degree in civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering.
- Professional Engineer registration with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC); successful completion of the National Professional Practice Exam (NPPE) is mandatory.
- In-depth knowledge of construction industry practices and standards, particularly in heavy civil work; familiarity with airport operations is advantageous.
- Strong project management, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and MS Project.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication abilities.

Compensation: Salary ranges from $91,587 to $119,696 for Intermediate positions or $97,599 to $127,555 for Senior positions annually, based on a standard 37.5-hour work week. Compensation is tailored to reflect individual experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
