The City of Toronto, a vibrant and diverse metropolis, is seeking a Lead Technical Architect for Enterprise Solutions specializing in ServiceNow. This pivotal role will report to the Portfolio Manager and be integral to a Technology team that oversees and leads the implementation of various strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the overall management of the ServiceNow platform within Technology Service Delivery.
  • Provide ownership and oversight of ServiceNow instances, addressing any escalations as necessary.
  • Support the development of a comprehensive ServiceNow roadmap.
  • Ensure alignment of the platform team with business strategies and governance policies.
  • Lead the ServiceNow governance board and manage all related governance components.
  • Oversee design and configuration decisions to ensure a seamless user experience in line with platform design strategies.
  • Architect scalable and sustainable solutions that meet business objectives and adhere to industry best practices.
  • Customize and configure ServiceNow modules, including IT Service Management (ITSM), IT Operations Management (ITOM), and more.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance on ServiceNow capabilities and implementation strategies.
  • Engage in hands-on development and implementation of ServiceNow solutions, including workflows and business rules.
  • Create and maintain essential technical documentation, including system architecture diagrams and deployment procedures.
  • Facilitate training and knowledge transfer regarding ServiceNow features and best practices.
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of ServiceNow's security model, including roles and access controls.
  • Lead the design and implementation of ServiceNow agents for performance monitoring.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships within Technology Services and with partner divisions.
  • Encourage collaboration and service excellence across cross-functional teams.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Extensive IT operations experience, particularly in enterprise processes and SaaS implementations.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in ServiceNow or similar platform architecture and implementation.
  • ServiceNow Certified Application Architect (CAA) is required.
  • Preferred certifications include ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) and Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS).
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Hands-on experience in configuring ServiceNow modules and integrations.
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a dynamic environment.
