Nurse Practitioner

The Northern Health Authority is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nurse Practitioner to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive patient care, including diagnosing diseases, disorders, and conditions, and initiating treatment plans.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including diagnosing and treating patients with undifferentiated diseases, disorders, and conditions.
- Develop and implement treatment plans, including writing orders for treatment and medications.
- Provide first-line care in emergencies and monitor ongoing care, ordering appropriate screening diagnostic investigations.
- Communicate with patients and families about health findings, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to assess and diagnose patient status and develop treatment plans.
- Prescribe medications within statutory and regulatory standards, limits, and conditions.
- Assign work to other nursing and healthcare personnel, evaluate their work, and provide education and supervision as needed.
- Master's degree in nursing from a BCCNM-approved program.
- Eligibility for registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Ability to communicate and collaborate with patients and families about health findings, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
- Ability to critically assess and evaluate health research literature to determine best practices.
- Ability to assess and recognize population health trends and plan and implement strategies for population-based prevention and health promotion.
- Ability to implement and evaluate planned change, supervise others, and evaluate the care they deliver.
