CRH Canada is actively seeking an Environmental Land Management Specialist to enhance their dynamic team.

The Environmental Land Management Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Assisting with the land stewardship initiatives within CRH's portfolio.
  • Facilitating environmental compliance reporting to regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensuring adherence to Environmental Compliance Approval standards related to air, water, and noise management.

Reporting Structure: This role reports directly to the Manager of Land & Environment, with additional oversight from the Director of Approvals and the Land & Environment Specialist.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support environmental initiatives and compliance monitoring for the Ontario Materials division.
  • Assist in managing environmental projects, liaising with operational teams as necessary.
  • Oversee field tasks and manage external consultants effectively.
  • Prepare and analyze maps and other relevant documentation.
  • Handle contract administration and financial processes through SAP.
  • Contribute to data collection for both internal and external environmental reporting.
  • Manage tenant and farmland leases on designated properties.
  • Maintain CRH's land management system and support planning applications and amendments.
  • Engage with municipal and provincial ministries regarding policy reviews and preparation.
  • Develop strategies to safeguard CRH's operations against evolving environmental regulations.
  • Travel periodically to various operational sites across Ontario.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in planning, geology, biology, hydrogeology, or environmental science.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Capability to perform fieldwork and manage light physical tasks.
  • Solid understanding of Ontario's planning legislation and environmental approvals.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members to achieve objectives.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong project management skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
