Position Overview

Northern Health is seeking a seasoned nursing executive to lead the Peace Villa. This role is ideal for individuals who are dedicated to the efficient and effective provision of healthcare services.

In alignment with the organization's core values and vision, the Program Leader operates in accordance with the professional standards and ethical guidelines set forth by the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). The Program Leader is accountable for ensuring excellence in patient/client/resident care within a specified program or clinical area. This includes administering, supervising, and coordinating health services to ensure high-quality care delivery.

The Program Leader will provide leadership and oversight to staff, manage resources, develop workforce strategies, assign tasks, and monitor activities to guarantee quality care and resource optimization. Responsibilities also include recruitment, conducting performance evaluations, and identifying training and development needs for team members. The role may involve direct patient care as necessary.

About Peace Villa: This facility is connected to the Fort St. John Hospital and offers 115 beds, including a respite bed. Peace Villa features Recreational Therapy Services five days a week, alongside Pastoral and Spiritual Services supported by community volunteers. A Volunteer Program enhances recreational activities, and on-site hairdressing services are available for a fee. Additionally, Peace Villa operates an integrated community adult day program five days a week.

Compensation: The new wage structure offers $66.65/hour.

Community Insight: Fort St. John, known as "The Energetic City," is rich in resources such as oil, natural gas, forestry, and agriculture. The town overlooks the Peace River and serves as the capital of the Peace River district, with a population exceeding 21,400 and a service area of approximately 70,000. Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.

  • Valid BC Driver's License.
