Software Development Manager, RDS SQL Server Commercial Engine

We are seeking an experienced engineering leader to drive security, integrations, and platform initiatives for our growing Amazon RDS SQL Server business. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and architecting scalable systems, leading cross-functional teams, and collaborating with customers to deliver high-quality solutions.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Reliability Engineering Lead, you will:
- Design and implement scalable systems to ensure high availability and reliability of our services.
- Lead cross-functional teams to deliver complex projects and initiatives.
- Collaborate with customers to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and knowledge base.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies.
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced engineering leader with a strong background in software development, system design, and team management. The ideal candidate will have:
- 3+ years of experience in engineering team management.
- 7+ years of experience in software development and system design.
- 3+ years of experience in designing or architecting scalable systems.
- 8+ years of experience in leading cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle.
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams.
Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy. Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers.
