About the Role

Champion Petfoods is seeking a highly skilled Nutrition Research Scientist to join our team at the Morinville Research and Innovation Centre. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for leading multiple concurrent projects focused on commercial diet applications and fundamental nutrition.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead feeding trial projects, including formulation of experimental diets, coordination with product development, and communication with research partners.
  • Communicate results of feeding research trials to product development, innovation, marketing, and executive leadership teams.
  • Collaborate with the Veterinary Engagement team to attend veterinary conferences and engage with veterinarian professionals.
  • Contribute to innovation, troubleshooting, and brainstorming ideas for future platform growth in key consumer needed state areas.
  • Stay up-to-date with scientific advances in dog and cat nutrition through conferences and literature reviews.
  • Perform statistical analysis and interpretation of trial data.
Requirements
  • PhD in Animal Nutrition, Animal Science, or equivalent.
  • Strong nutritional background and knowledge, with companion animal experience an asset.
  • Minimum 3 years of research experience, including study design, execution, collaboration, data analysis, and dissemination.
  • Proficient in scientific writing and dissemination.
  • Strong written and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
