POSITION OVERVIEW

The Senior Director of Financial Planning and Analysis serves as a pivotal business partner to the Motor Coach Industries and New Flyer divisions, aiming to enhance profitability and meet financial objectives. This role is crucial in guiding the organizations to track and achieve their annual operational plans while managing essential cash functions. Responsibilities include the preparation of annual budgets and oversight of forecasting, reporting, and monitoring processes. The Senior Director will collaborate with various stakeholders to foster financial literacy, awareness, and maintain robust controls.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage cash invoicing and collection processes, including weekly cash forecasts.
  • Lead the development of the annual budget and operational plans.
  • Generate monthly forecasts of financial outcomes.
  • Compile monthly reporting packages for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Deliver insightful analysis on overhead, SG&A, and production costs, identifying and implementing cost-saving measures.
  • Provide comprehensive reporting and analysis on company labor, including efficiency metrics and support for bargaining processes.
  • Oversee the capital budgeting process and assist in the development of multi-year cost forecasts.
  • Offer operational and financial support to the North American Bus and Coach management teams, responding to information requests promptly.
  • Support operational decision-making and evaluate financial proposals related to capital investments.
  • Ensure financial controls are maintained in alignment with NFI's ICFR program.
  • Assist with both internal and external audit processes.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUCCESS:

  • A recognized accounting designation (CPA) is mandatory for this role.
  • At least 10 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Demonstrated success in driving financial performance and achieving results in dynamic environments.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to derive insights from complex financial data.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, fostering relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • A commitment to sustainability and environmentally responsible practices.
  • Familiarity with IFRS, Oracle, and ICFR is considered advantageous.

Travel requirements for this position may reach up to 10%.
