Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Signal Maintenance Technician to join our team at CP. As a Signal Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our signal and communication systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Test and verify the correct operation of signal and communication systems and equipment on assigned territory
  • Perform preventive maintenance on all signal and communication apparatus
  • Conduct inspections and tests as required on each device
  • Repair or replace defective devices
  • Investigate and locate problems or failures and take corrective action
  • Plan and coordinate work with other teams
  • Ensure adequate materials are available to complete work or repairs without delay
  • Install apparatus in accordance with prepared circuit drawings and standards
  • Make authorized corrections and modifications to circuits and update plans
  • Prepare and submit reports, time sheets, and handle general correspondence
  • Candidates must be bilingual (French/English)
  • This is a on-call position

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
  • Valid driver's license
  • Pass the CP Signal Maintainer examination or hold Class 1 qualifications
  • Safety-oriented work ethic with experience performing labor in an outdoor work environment
  • Ability to follow instructions, rules, and regulations
  • Ability to work as a valuable team member
  • Good written and verbal communication/comprehension skills
  • Commercial Vehicle and/or air brake license is considered an asset
