Position Overview:
The University of Ottawa is seeking a qualified individual to serve as a Mathematics Specialist for the Primary and Middle School Cycles. This role requires a strong educational background and a commitment to enhancing the learning experience in mathematics.
Qualifications:
- Possession of a Master's degree in Education.
- Specialist certification in Mathematics education.
- Recent experience in full-time teaching or administrative roles within an educational institution.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience implementing the Ontario curriculum for Mathematics.
- Current validation of qualifications in the field of Mathematics education.
- Demonstrated ability to adhere to the Standards of Practice and the Code of Ethics set forth by Ontario Teachers.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will:
- Lead the implementation of educational policies and guidelines from the Ontario Ministry of Education.
- Support colleagues in applying theoretical knowledge to design and assess effective teaching practices and programs for Mathematics.
- Foster a positive learning environment that promotes student growth and development.
- Assist in the utilization of diverse resources, including technology and hands-on materials, to enhance professional knowledge and support student learning.
- Encourage the establishment of professional learning communities among educators.
Additional Information:
Equivalent education and/or experience may be considered as meeting the requirements for this position.
