Position Overview

Join our team at GTA Skilled Trades as a Mechanical Maintenance Technician. This permanent role offers a dynamic work environment where you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of machinery and equipment.

  • Experience: 3 to 5 years in a related field
Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

As a Mechanical Maintenance Technician, you will:

  • Identify and troubleshoot machinery irregularities and malfunctions.
  • Repair or replace faulty machinery components.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on various equipment.
  • Install new machinery and equipment.
  • Operate hoisting and lifting devices.
  • Join pipes and piping sections using welding and soldering techniques.
  • Test pipes for leaks utilizing air and water pressure gauges.
Certifications and Qualifications

Required certifications include:

  • Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Trade Certification
  • Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Red Seal Endorsement
Equipment Proficiency

Experience with the following is essential:

  • Fans and blowers
  • Hydraulic systems
  • Pneumatic systems
  • Power tools
  • Pumps and compressors
  • Turbines
  • Hand tools
  • Storage and silage systems
Specialization Areas

Focus areas include:

  • Troubleshooting
  • Vibration analysis

Transportation Requirements

Having your own transportation is necessary.
