Location: Toronto, ON
Salary: $38.90 per hour + Shift premium
Industry: Manufacturing / Food / Retail
Employment Term: Full Time / Permanent
Shift: 4 day / 10 Hour Shifts
Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Thorough understanding of mechanical and electrical systems utilized in production and packaging areas, including flow wrappers and metal detection equipment.
  • Experience with various workshop tools, such as milling machines, lathes, grinders, drilling machines, and welding apparatus.
  • Expertise in diagnosing and resolving mechanical problems, along with efficient equipment setup.
  • Capability to perform significant and minor adjustments to machinery within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Executing all maintenance tasks on facility equipment safely, ensuring cleanliness and optimal performance, while adhering to GMP standards.
  • Conducting enhancements to machinery/systems, exploring and assessing new equipment, maintaining detailed maintenance records, and ensuring accessibility of all pertinent information.
  • Completion and submission of necessary reports.
  • Accountable for both corrective and preventive maintenance on a variety of mechanical systems.
  • Implementing machinery/system improvements, researching and testing new equipment, and maintaining maintenance documentation.
  • Acting as the primary responder and verifier in emergency situations.
  • Additional related tasks as assigned by the Supervisor and Manager.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • 5 years of experience in mechanical and electrical work, including setup, adjustments, and troubleshooting.
  • Preferred possession of a valid Industrial skilled trades license (Millwright) from Ontario or any Canadian province, although not mandatory.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities with good mechanical aptitude.
  • Able to work a 4 day / 10-hour shift.
  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.
