Your Role as a Heavy Duty Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team in Saskatoon. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy-duty drilling equipment. Your expertise will ensure the smooth operation of our equipment and contribute to the success of our projects.

  • Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough inspections of equipment to identify performance issues or potential faults.
  • Diagnose and repair malfunctions in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Adjust, repair, or replace defective components using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Test repaired equipment to ensure it meets regulatory requirements and operates safely.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning and lubrication, to prevent future breakdowns.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to resolve complex issues.
  • Order necessary parts and materials to support repair and maintenance activities.
  • Suggest improvements to equipment design or maintenance procedures to enhance productivity and efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Trade Certification (Red Seal) and completion of a recognized apprenticeship program.
  • 5-10 years of proven experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic, preferably in the drilling industry.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • First Aid and Safety Certifications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
